The announcement of the roadmap out of Lockdown meant that both Mothering Sunday and Easter were likely to be missed events , but after a conversation with the grants department at Cornwall Council we were convinced to re-open.
The lockdown process has allowed us to reflect on where we were, and where we wanted to go in terms of the business.
We contacted some new suppliers using Instagram to get new products in, so welcome Cornish Pasta, Langley’s Chocolate, Rebel Sauces.
We have had some repairs done in the shop, to the door and windowsill.
Well here we are in our second lockdown of 2020, but this time we have remained open.
We are offering a click and collect service from the shop, local delivery and national delivery through our courier.
Hamper orders are starting to come in and we are expecting more before the start of December .
So having closed the shop at the end of March, apart from fulfilling online orders and local deliveries, we reopened in May firstly just at the weekend.
The summer months have seen quite a steady trade, with people escaping crowds at some points for the tranquility of the shop.
Being closed for periods of the year has not meant that we stopped our search for new products, or new suppliers coming to us.
We now have a supplier of sea glass jewellery as well as further handmade storage items.
Jackie and Robert Gibbon have been in the shop for nearly a year now. We have enjoyed meeting lots of new people and suppliers, but also trying to expand on the great range of Cornish products. We started on 2nd of February 2019 the last day of trading for Marks and Spencer. We are currently updating our on line site and hoping to try and create a click and collect scheme.
